Bio
Cousin Tony’s Brand New Firebird are an indie rock band from Naarm/Melbourne, Australia.
Founded by charismatic, musically gifted singer-songwriter Lachlan Rose, their music is infectious, honest, eclectic and original. In addition to Rose, the band features Francesca Gonzales (vocals/keyboards), Nick Reid (drums), Matthew Hayes (bass) and Peter Simonsen (guitar/keys/vocals).
To date the band have released three albums Smiles of Earth (2022), New Romancer (2019), and Electric Brown (2018) and two EPs, Melbourne Bitter (2017) and Queen of Hearts (2015). With their prolific output and constant touring, Cousin Tony have built a devoted following in their homeland. They’ve sold out shows across massive headline tours and have played at numerous festivals including Falls Festival, Loch Hart, Happy Wanderer, NYE on the Hill and Beyond the Valley.
In 2019 the ‘bird embarked on their first UK tour, performing showcases at The Great Escape, as well as their own headline gigs to packed rooms in London, Glasgow, Manchester and Dublin. In 2023, the band returned to the UK again – selling out London – and Europe for the first time.
2025 will see the release of their fourth album, with a set of special shows planned for their hometown, and a national tour on the horizon.
