Georgia Mulligan announces debut album, shares new single 'Paper'

Debut album Nothing Wrong out November 3rd

Acclaimed Sydney singer/songwriter Georgia Mulligan has announced today that her debut album Nothing Wrong will arrive on November 3rd, with a new single entitled 'Paper' landing today.

The album is the result of three years of work, with the seeds of many of the songs first sown back in 2020 during a time of great personal upheaval.

The result is one of the year's finest indie-rock records.

Co-produced and engineered by Blain Cuneen (Julia Jacklin, Midnight Oil), it's equal parts delicate and thorny, detailed and raw, nuanced and impulsive.

"I started to believe in Fate," Mulligan says. "I learned to listen harder for the sounds of the machinations we cannot see... This record contains all I have, everything that I have had."

New single 'Paper' marks fresh territory for her. Faster and spikier than anything she has released previously, it offers a tip of the hat to punk rock influences and is immediately captivating.

"It's a tight rock song full of big messy feelings," she explains. "Paper is about those moments when you realise that you are steering yourself through something that will change you. Paper is a song for my mother. Paper is a song for my mothers. For the people who I have learned from. For aunties, sisters and chosen family. Paper is a song about trying to forgive the people that raised you. It is a promise, or a new oath to take – I forgive what I can, I cherish what I have."

'Paper' is out today through Double Drummer Music. Debut album 'Nothing Wrong' out Nov 3rd.
