Lucy Parle gets 'Loud'

Occupying her own unique position at the intersection of indie, pop, country and rock; Lucy Parle’s first four singles have introduced a remarkable new talent to the world; clocking up over half a million streams across the DSPs. The 18 year old from Lisarow on the NSW Central Coast is only just getting started.

Set for release this Friday through Double Drummer/Believe, new single ‘Loud’ sees her working with renowned young producer Jack Nigro for the first time, best known for his work with The Terrys, Pacific Avenue and TOTTY. Dynamic, punchy and immediately hooky, the song showcases a new side to Parle’s sound, with lyrics describing (in her words) the sensation of “feeling like you’re a stepping stone to someone else’s success”.

Increasingly referred to as “the Australian Taylor Swift”, Parle’s timeless sound will also appeal to fans of Vance Joy or Amy Shark, as much as it does The Beatles or Fleetwood Mac.

She brings a melodic sensibility and deft songwriting skill to her craft that have seen her win multiple awards; including taking out the Teen category of the highly coveted International Songwriting Competition in 2021.

Recognised as a standout performer in triple j's Unearthed High in both 2020 and 2021, she has subsequently inked deals with boutique indie label Double Drummer (Greta Stanley, Cousin Tony’s Brand New Firebird, Emma Swift) and ORiGIN Music Publishing (Megan Washington, Gotye).

‘Loud’ is out now through Double Drummer/Believe.
