Cousin Tony's Brand New Firebird announce massive national tour and new single 'Love Is Heartbreak'
Magnificent Melbourne shapeshifters Cousin Tony’s Brand New Firebird are hitting the road for a set of dates across Australia. The quintet will play 11 dates across March and April in support of 'Love is Heartbreak', the first track from their forthcoming sophomore LP New Romancer.
With their last tour boasting a string of sold out shows, Cousin Tony are taking on bigger venues and more dates, encompassing every state in the country. This will be followed by their first UK and Ireland tour in May, coinciding with the album’s release.
Having amassed millions of streams, 4-5 star Unearthed reviews from 11 of the folks at triple j and the praises of Matt Corby, Montaigne and Gang of Youths’ Dave Le’aupepe, it looks like 2019 could well be the year that the ‘bird truly soars.
‘Love is Heartbreak’ is an ambitious and kaleidoscopic piece of indie-pop which perfectly sets the scene for the new record’s thematic journey from heartbreak to recovery. It will be released worldwide through Double Drummer/AWAL this Friday February 8.
