Double Drummer adds Greta Stanley to publishing roster
Sydney indie label/publisher Double Drummer is excited to announce that rapidly rising North Queensland singer/songwriter Greta Stanley is the newest addition to their publishing family.
In 2018, Stanley was the 6th most played artist on triple j Unearthed, as well as being the recipient of the coveted Billy Thorpe Scholarship at the Queensland Music Awards. Booked by boutique agency Four Tone Artists (Didirri, Slowly Slowly), she’s played several festivals and supported the likes of Tash Sultana and Ziggy Alberts. Her streams are in the millions and her stunning previous singles ‘When January Comes’ and ‘Come Undone’ have received triple j rotation. Her new single ‘Kick’ was released last week.
“We were attracted to Greta’s music because it has that special thing that most really great singer/songwriters have – it’s uninhibited and unflinchingly honest,” says Double Drummer’s Edward Prescott. “‘Kick’ is a perfect example. Her golden pipes and the hooks grab you instantly, but it’s her fearlessness when it comes to tackling difficult and personal subject matter that gives the song real depth and longevity.”
Stanley’s manager Fleur McMenamin says “Greta is such a unique and truly talented artist and I am so excited for her to join the Double Drummer family. It’s such an important next step in her burgeoning career and I couldn’t have imagined a better addition to her team than Ed and Tim Prescott.”
