Cousin Tony's is one of Melbourne's most loved bands of the past decade, led by Lachy Rose's inspiring and moving songs, and the band's joyous live performances.
They last performed in Melbourne in 2023 during their Smiles Of Earth national tour, to a rapt audience and a sold out Northcote Theatre – over 1000 fans in the church of Cousin Tony's that night!.
After a well earned creative break, the band are gearing up for a huge 2025.
A new Cousin Tony's album has just been completed, and national touring is on the agenda. But... before all that, Cousin Tony's Melbourne fans are in for a rare treat!
The band are going back to their roots with 3 exclusive and intimate Melbourne pub shows, over 3 weekends in April and May to celebrate their city, and their music. Each show is dedicated to an album from their journey – playing the album, with some hits and surprises thrown in – all in anticipation of a brand new record due later this year.
SHOW #1 – Thursday 24 April – The Evelyn Hotel, features Cousin Tony's first album of retro Psych pop, Electric Brown, and tracks from the first EPs, Melbourne Bitter and The Queen of Hearts
SHOW #2 – Saturday 3 May – The Leadbeater, featuring New Romancer – songs of joy and tears on the dancefloor, and other career highlights.
SHOW #3 – Friday 9 May – Northcote Social Club, playing the wide screen epic tunes from Smiles Of Earth, and other Cousin Tony's hits.
This will be a rare opportunity to witness an authentic band in ebullient communion with the audience, and must see gigs if you're a member of the 'bird's fanworld.
And in the meantime, watch out for the new tracks from Cousin Tony's, ‘Rosewater’ and ‘Mercury Rising’, to be released in late March and April.
