Junglehammer release slinky single 'Windmills By The Road'

This week Australian Jazz/Funk collective, Junglehammer, release a smooth and slinky new track that brings the instrumental back en vogue.

'Windmills By The Road' is a swirling and evocative song, complemented by a hypnotic road trip video. The clip stars the glamours of the architectural, engineering and environmental worlds – wind turbines. Sure to raise contradictory feelings, but striking in its simplicity, 'Windmills By The Road' should be seen as well as heard.

In the video, directed and edited by Bernie Zelvis (who's worked with Lady Gaga) the “windmills” of our new age stand like sentries guarding the environment, spinning purposefully in the stunning country landscape of Crookwell, NSW.

The brilliant track – as for all Junglehammer recordings – features some of the best jazz and session musicians playing in Australia, including David Marsalis on drums and percussion (10cc, Divinyls, Christine Anu).

Like all instrumentals – and against all the realities of today’s pop music – the track is an outlier that allows the listener time to listen, think, and to breathe in the music of these soulful creatives.

'Windmills...' is suitable for a range of playlists including chill, jazz, ambient, focus, work music, cafe and late night. It's to be savoured and enjoyed as a respite against the cacophony of daily urban life.
